We are a small software studio, founded in Berlin in 2020. We build custom applications and dashboards for needs that off-the-shelf software cannot meet — and we build, deploy and run them.
Where we come from
DARFA was founded in Berlin in 2020. The company is young, but it rests on roughly ten years of work that came before it: at various web design firms, with organisations and people across many industries — some of them directly.
Those years taught us one thing above all: a business’s real problem is rarely a new website. An off-the-shelf program does most of the work, the rest gets done by hand — and that remainder is what eats the time. That is exactly where our work starts today.
We built our own company and run our own infrastructure. We work with an experienced, project-based team and grow as far as the work requires — no further.
Three commitments
Transparency, satisfaction and professionalism have been our motto since day one. On their own the words say little, so here is what they mean in practice.
Transparency
You get the scope and budget range in writing from the start. The output of discovery — process map and scope — is yours, even if you do not continue with us.
Satisfaction
For us a project is not done at handover, but when the system is running in daily use. With a support contract we are there for as long as the system runs; when something goes wrong, there is one place to turn to.
Professionalism
If an off-the-shelf solution does the job, we tell you so plainly. Building software that does not need to be built helps no one.
After launch
A team you can still reach after handover.
Under a support contract we take care of updates, security patches and monitoring for the systems we built, on a regular schedule; when a problem comes up, you always have a technical contact to reach.
You can rent the server from us as well — backup, monitoring and mail infrastructure included. If you prefer your own infrastructure, we set the system up there and maintain it.
